Description
Axe and the Oak Distillery is a craft whiskey distillery in Colorado Springs, founded in 2013 by two friends. It makes Colorado bourbon, rye, gin, vodka and a corn-based Pikes Peak Hill Shine from Rocky Mountain water and local grains. Visitors can stop by the distillery to pick up a bottle on weekdays.
The companion Axe and the Oak Whiskey House is a tasting room and bar inside the historic Ivywild School, a mile south of downtown. It has no TVs, but offers craft whiskey cocktails and live music from local musicians on weekends. Private events and catering from the school's on-site restaurants are available, and takeout is offered.
