Solar Roast Coffee is a Pueblo coffee company that roasts organic, single-origin beans using solar energy rather than fossil fuels. The brand began in 2004 with brothers Mike and David Hartkop, who built their own solar roasters and opened their first coffee shop in downtown Pueblo in 2007. It describes its cooking process as combustion-free, which it says gives a smoother cup.
