Tamale Kitchen makes hand-crafted tamales from a family recipe passed down from founders Jose and Aurora Lujan. Tamales come in red, spicy green chile or veggie versions, wrapped in corn masa and steamed. The family began selling tamales door to door in 1980 and opened the first Tamale Kitchen in Lakewood in 1981. Today the Colorado brand runs eight locations around the Denver Metro area.
