The Sourdough Boulangerie

The Sourdough Boulangerie is a sourdough bakery at 6449 Omaha Blvd in Colorado Springs. It has been open since 2014 and makes breads and pastries with locally sourced ingredients and whole grains. The owner, Shawn Saunders, has been baking since 1994 and opened his first bakery in 2004.

The bakery says its stone-ground whole wheat comes from Mountain Mama Milling in Monte Vista, and its honey comes from Tan Man Honey in Colorado Springs. Many of the breads are vegan, and the pastry line is being expanded with more vegan options. There are no gluten-free items. Catering is available, and the bakery also sets up at area farmers markets and supplies local cafes, markets and restaurants.
