Chillin’ BBQ & MORE

Chillin' BBQ & MORE is a Texas-style barbecue spot at 205 Gunnison Ave in Lake City, run by a retired firefighter who says he has more than four decades of experience smoking meat. The menu centers on hickory-smoked ribs and plates of sliced brisket, pulled pork or sausage, served with sides like BBQ beans, potato salad and creamy cole slaw. House bacon can be added to any sandwich, and the kitchen also makes a BLT, a Chillin' Melt and a black bean veggie burger.

Coffee and pastries are served in the mornings, and the drink list includes smoothies, sweet tea, beer, wine and frozen cocktails. Guests can sit inside, on the shaded front deck or in the backyard, which hosts free live music on Friday evenings from mid-June through mid-September, weather permitting. Takeout orders can be placed by phone.
