Blackbird Cafe

Blackbird Cafe is a breakfast, brunch and lunch spot along Bear Creek in Kittredge, just outside Evergreen, at 25940 CO-74. A wall of windows puts tables over the creek, and the room also has booths, bar seating and a fireplace. The owners took the name from their family surname, which means "little blackbird" in Hungarian.

The menu runs from French toast, pancakes and Benedicts with house-made hollandaise to breakfast burritos, grass-fed burgers, hot sandwiches and a walnut salmon salad. Hummus and desserts are made in-house, and cocktails, beer and wine are served. There is a kids menu, a vegan menu and gluten-free options, plus takeout, online ordering and to-go lunches for hikers. Live music plays on Thursday evenings.
