This Privacy Policy explains what information Local Food Reviews (localfoodreviews.net), operated by 8978 Tech & Digital Group, Inc., collects and how we use it.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and password, and anything you add to your profile.
  • Reviews and content: reviews, ratings, replies, photos, menus and listing details you submit.
  • Payments: paid plans are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe; we do not store it. We keep a record of your plan, payments and renewal dates.
  • Usage and device data: pages visited, clicks, approximate location from your IP address, browser type, and cookies, including through our analytics provider (Google Analytics).
  • Connected accounts: if a business owner connects Google or Facebook to show reviews, we receive the reviews and ratings that the owner authorizes.

2. How we use it

  • To run the Site, your account, listings and paid plans.
  • To screen reviews for spam, fakes and conflicts of interest, including checks on account age, IP address and wording, and automated review by AI services.
  • To draft review replies for restaurants that use that feature.
  • To send account, billing and service messages.
  • To measure and improve the Site, and to keep it secure.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site, under contracts that limit their use of it, including our hosting provider, Stripe (payments), Google Analytics (measurement), AI service providers (review screening and reply drafting), and EmbedMyReviews (connected review platforms). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

4. What is public

Reviews you post appear publicly with your display name. Business listing information is public.

5. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember preferences and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; some features may not work without them.

6. Retention

We keep account information while your account is open and for a reasonable time after, as needed for legal, tax and security purposes. Reviews of connected Google or Facebook accounts are refreshed regularly and removed when the owner disconnects.

7. Your choices and rights

You can update your account details, delete your reviews, or ask us to delete your account by contacting us. Depending on where you live, including under the Colorado Privacy Act, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data. Email us to make a request; we will respond within the time the law requires.

8. Children

The Site is not intended for children under 13, and accounts are for people 18 and older.

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Changes

We will post updates here with a new date, and notify account holders of significant changes.
