Jake and Telly’s Greek Taverna

Jake and Telly's Greek Taverna is a family-run Greek restaurant in historic Old Colorado City, on the west side of Colorado Springs. Brothers Jake and Telly Topakas opened it in 1997 as a bar and grill and gradually shifted to Greek cooking, and Jake now runs it as sole owner. The kitchen draws on recipes the family says came from their grandparents, who emigrated from the island of Chios.

The menu covers appetizers such as grilled octopus, spanakopita and dolmas, plus avgolemono soup, gyros, lamb entrees, souvlaki, seared salmon and baklava. There is a Greek wine list, a kids menu, and vegetarian and vegan options. Guests can dine inside or on the patio, order takeout or online, or book catering with at least 48 hours' notice. The restaurant is at 2616 W Colorado Ave.
