Description
Purgatory Cellars is a Colorado winery founded in 2014 by winemakers from Croatia, with a tasting room at 611 Wilcox St Unit C in Castle Rock. The winery is based in Parker, where it handcrafts its wines in batches, using mostly Colorado-grown grapes. It describes itself as the first winery in Colorado to age wine in Georgian amphora (qvevri) clay vessels.
The wine menu covers whites, reds, rosé, dessert and sparkling wines, plus amber-style Qvevri wines and cider on tap. Guests can order a tasting flight, a glass or a bottle, and a charcuterie board of cheeses, salami, nuts, dried fruit and crackers is also offered. Catering is available, and children are welcome when accompanied by a parent.
