Tamale Kitchen is a family-run Mexican restaurant that makes hand-made tamales in Colorado from a recipe passed down from the owners' grandparents, Jose and Aurora Lujan. The family began selling tamales door to door in 1980 and opened its first Lakewood shop in 1981. Tamales come in red, spicy green chile or veggie versions, wrapped in corn masa and steamed. The brand now has eight locations across the Denver metro area.
