Description
19th Street Diner is a family-owned diner at 1908 Grand Avenue in Glenwood Springs, opened in 1986. Owners Rick and Tonya Wernsmann bought it in 2007 after working there as staff. The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with traditional diner plates such as chicken fried steak, half-pound burgers, omelets, salads, clubs and fried French toast. Chili, soups, gravies and dressings are made in-house.
The kitchen also smokes pulled pork, St. Louis style ribs and brisket, and makes its own Canadian bacon for weekend eggs Benedict. Daily specials rotate through the week, from Mexican favorites and pot roast to meatloaf and sandwiches. A bar with five TVs pours beer and cocktails, including Bloody Marys, and catering is available.
