Description
Tennessee Pass Cookhouse is a backcountry restaurant near Leadville, Colorado, set in a solar-powered yurt about a mile into the San Isabel forest. Guests ski, snowshoe or hike to the table, and the cookhouse says it has been serving meals this way for 25 years. The handmade menu changes with the seasons.
Brunch, lunch and dinner are served by reservation, which can be made by phone or through the website's booking calendar, and entree choices are submitted ahead of time. The Cookhouse sits alongside the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center and ski-in sleep yurts, so many visitors combine a meal with a day on the trails or an overnight stay. Catering and online ordering are also available.
