The Slogar

The Slogar is a restaurant at 517 2nd St in Crested Butte, Colorado, known for family style skillet-fried chicken dinners. The building dates to 1882 and began as a home and boarding house before becoming a restaurant, and the dinners have been served since 1983.

The meal comes in three courses. It opens with tomato chutney, cottage cheese, coleslaw and a Cezar salad. The second course is a choice of fried chicken, ribs, ribeye, filet or a veggie stuffed pepper, with bottomless mashed potatoes, creamed corn, gravy and biscuits with honey butter and jam. An ice cream sandwich finishes the meal. A smaller parlour menu is served at the bar on a first come, first served basis, and the restaurant offers brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The bar pours a revolving cocktail and mocktail menu and an extensive wine list. Catering and reservations are available, including large pick-up orders and private parties.
