esp

esp is a hi-fi listening bar at 1029 Santa Fe Dr in Denver, built around playing records on an all-analog sound system. The space follows a "less is more" approach, with a drink list centered on natural wine, made with minimal intervention. The owners describe the bar as influenced by Japanese kissa, cafes and bars where listening to music is the main event.

The music is chosen to suit the room, from ambient and classical selections earlier in the day to dub, jazz, motown and synth pop at night. The system includes restored Garrard 401 turntables and vintage Klipsch speakers. Reservations are limited to larger parties of 9 to 12 people, and private events can be arranged through the website.
