Description
The Nugget Mountain Bar is a log-cabin bar at 48721 US-550 in Durango, about a half mile south of Purgatory Resort. The building dates to 1969, and the bar describes itself as a nod to an old miner's cabin, with a vintage chairlift hanging indoors as a two-seat swing, a bar top built from skis, and a loft upstairs. Outside, a lawn with gas firepits, cornhole and giant Jenga sits beside a large front deck.
Food comes from the Backcountry Gourmet food truck, which serves salads, sliders and fries, plus a kid's menu. Live music plays on Friday and Saturday in both the summer and winter seasons.
