The South Restaurant

The South Restaurant is a longtime Englewood spot at 3535 S Huron St serving Mexican dishes alongside American comfort food. The restaurant says it has been open for over 50 years and was founded by NFL player Jerry Sturm. The Quesorito, a burrito-style specialty, comes in nine versions, and the menu also covers sizzling fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, tamales, chile rellenos and sopapillas.

On the American side, expect burgers, a steak sandwich, a pork tenderloin sandwich, chicken wings and a range of salads and soups. Breakfast is served, and margaritas, beer, wine and cocktails are on the drink menu. Guests can sit on the large patio, which includes an enclosed section, or inside with around a dozen TVs showing games. Larger groups can request a reservation in advance.
