Switchback Smokehouse

Switchback Smokehouse is a barbecue spot on the Colorado 74 Frontage in Evergreen, where house-cured meats and fish are smoked daily over apple and cherry wood. The menu is built around a butcher-shop counter that sells proteins by weight, from pulled pork and Montreal-style smoked brisket to duck breast, ribs and bourbon-glazed salmon. Deluxe sandwiches, salads, sides by the pint or quart and a kids' hot dog round it out, and the ice cream shop on site makes its flavors in house.

Ordering is at the counter, inside or out, and the food is brought to your table. Picnic tables sit beside Bear Creek, and the restaurant describes itself as family friendly and dog friendly.
