San Juan Soda Co

San Juan Soda Co is a classic soda fountain at 227 Silver St in downtown Lake City, facing the town park. The menu covers old-fashioned fountain drinks, shakes made on an antique malt mixer, sundaes, banana splits, and more than 30 flavors of ice cream served in homemade waffle cones. Espresso drinks are also on the menu, including affogato, made with Camp 4 coffee from Crested Butte.

The building dates to the 1870s and was first used as a soda fountain in the 1950s. The Hartman family has run it since 1988. Guests can sit at the fountain bar or on the flower-filled patio, and everything on the menu is available for takeout. A gift shop with Colorado and U.S.-made items shares the space.
