Description
The Walter Brewing Company is a brewery and taproom at 126 Oneida St in Pueblo, Colorado, set in a historic beer depot building beside active railroad lines. The brand traces its roots to 1889, when the Walter family, German immigrants who settled in Wisconsin, began brewing, and Martin Walter founded the Pueblo brewery in 1898. After closing in 1975, it was revived in the early 2000s using the family's pre-Prohibition pilsner recipe.
The taproom pours its own lagers, including Walter's Original pilsner, Pueblo Chile Beer and Blood Orange Lager, along with a bock, an IPA, hard seltzers with a flavor bar, and guest taps from other Colorado breweries. A back patio overlooks the trains, and the calendar includes weekly activities such as trivia and open mic, food trucks, and an annual Oktoberfest. Takeout, online ordering and catering are available.
