Wood Ear

Wood Ear is a whiskey-focused cocktail bar and ramen noodle spot at 135 E Colorado Ave in Telluride. It blends Texas smokehouse cooking with Japanese and other Asian influences, and takes its name from the wood ear mushroom used in Asian cuisine. The restaurant was started by a general manager and a chef who are both from Texas and wanted to open a ramen shop with a flavor of their home state.

The space is in the basement of the historic Roma Building and centers on a hand-carved bar of walnut and white tiger pine that has been in place since the late 1880s. The bar pours draft and bottled beer, classic cocktails and more than 150 spirits, including many Japanese whiskeys. Guests can sit on the patio facing Colorado Avenue or settle onto a couch to catch a live band. Reservations are taken through Resy, bar and patio seating is available for walk-ins, and online ordering is offered.
