Franks Bar-B-Que

Frank's Bar-B-Que is a family-run Texas-style barbecue business at 4700 W Colfax Ave in Denver. Frank Sr. started it in 1969 in Bay City, Texas, and the family moved it to Denver in 1980. It is now run by the third generation. The restaurant says it smokes its meats slowly over mesquite and oak wood and never finishes them in an oven or on a grill.

Catering is a major part of the business. Groups of ten or more can pick up their order or have it delivered in steam table pans, while larger events of 50 guests or more can be served buffet-style on location. Visitors can also stop in for a barbecue plate or sandwich to go, or buy meat by the pound. Takeout and online ordering are available, and the menus cover options such as pig roasts, luaus and seasonal holiday turkey and ham.
