About Speer
Speer sits just southwest of downtown Denver, south of Capitol Hill and near the Cherry Creek corridor. It is named for Robert W. Speer, the mayor who shaped much of early twentieth-century Denver, and it is known for Speer Boulevard, the tree-lined road that follows Cherry Creek through the city.
The area is a mix of apartment buildings, older homes and commercial strips, and it is close enough to downtown that many residents walk or bike to nearby shops and restaurants. The boundary used on this page is the official neighborhood line from City and County of Denver open data, so it overlaps in places with South Broadway (SoBo).
