Description

True Grit Cafe is an American comfort-food restaurant at 123 N Lena St in Ridgway, Colorado. It opened on New Year's Eve in 1985 to honor the filming of the 1969 John Wayne film "True Grit," and the walls inside carry photos of the actor's film career. The cafe says an inside wall was once part of the exterior of "Chambers Grocery" in an early scene of the movie.

The menu covers burgers, hand-breaded chicken fried steak, steaks, entree salads, sandwiches and wraps, baked potatoes, chili and soup, elk and chicken dishes, mac and cheese, and a kids menu. Guests can sit at the bar, or on the balcony deck with a view of the San Juan Mountains. Online ordering, catering and reservations for parties are available.
