Vern’s Place

Vern's Place is an American comfort-food restaurant at 4120 W County Rd 54G in Laporte, Colorado. It began in 1946 as a roadside diner, gas station and sporting goods store, and its history page traces the owners who have run it since, including the current team that took over in 2023.

The house specialty is fried chicken, served by the half or quarter with mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw and a dinner roll, with a Nashville hot option. Cinnamon rolls are baked fresh daily, and the menu also includes a roast beef sandwich called the 54G and burgers. Breakfast is served until noon.
